Mitsukoshi Department Store
Located in Orlando, FL, USA. The retail interior of the Mitsukoshi Department Store at EPCOT's Japan Pavilion is a compelling study in modernized vernacular commercial design, specifically tailored to handle dense pedestrian traffic within a themed environment. The spatial configuration is defined by a low, non-monumental ceiling plane anchored by a heavy longitudinal structural grid of blackened timber-style beams.

Zhongshuge Bookstore
Located in Shenzhen, China. The spatial experience is anchored by a monumental, 122-foot-long horizontal spiral bookshelf that snakes through the main concept area like a colossal kinetic sculpture.
Chromatically, the space utilizes a high-contrast palette where the deep reds and warm wood-grain tones of the twisting shelves stand out against the absolute black and deep blues of the surrounding envelope.
